ARBONET GPS STANDARDIZATION CONFIGURATION

GPS configuration for the following types of Units:

Garmin etrex
Garmin GPS V
Magellan 315

The units above will be configured to the following configuration for sampling consistency:

Projected UTM
Zone:15
Datum:WGS84
unit of measure : Meters

Display format should be Easting and Northings

Magellan Customers Configuration directions:

To change coordinate system
1) press the "menu" then select "setup" and press enter
2) scroll down to "coordinate system" and press enter
3) then select "primary" and press enter
4) then scroll down to "UTM" and press enter
5) press "quit" and "nav" to get to the "position" screen and you will see
the  changed grid format the receiver will automatically display the zone "15" when it establishes a position fix in that area and display your "northing and "easting" values in meters also the map datum is preset to WGS84 to change this

1) press menu then highlight "setup" and press enter 
2) highlight "map datum" and press enter  
3) highlight "primary" and press enter 
4) scroll down to "WGS84" and press enter

In sure read-out displays Easting (X) and Northing (Y) = ( example read out = 676108 E,  3379632 N) enter only the numbers in data entry form example =  676108 

Garmin etrex & Garmin GPS V

Configuration directions:

Under Menu select position format – UTM –ups and map datum wgs-84 (default)

Units = statue (default = meter).

In sure read-out displays Easting (X) and Northing (Y) = ( example read out = 676108 E,  3379632 N) enter only the numbers in data entry form example =  676108
