2004 Location Information

After selection the New SiteLocation link on either Chicken, Mosquito, Field Test or Wild bird data entry forms a location information form will appear. The location information must relate directly to the type of sample collected (Chicken, Mosquito, Field Test or Wild bird) or it will not appear in collection site drop down list on the form.
Enter the following information listed below.
The collection site is the information
that will appear in the drop down list on the sample data entry form. To obtain
the location information northing and easting from on-line maps, in replace
of GPS data click link next to Easting - Find Easting and Northing from Map.
An on-line map of Louisiana will appear. Select parish where the sample site
is located by double clicking the parish boundaries. This will zoom you into
the parish will zip code boundaries and an image of the parish. Click on approximate
sample location by clicking on the A) zip code boundaries or B) by pressing
the (+) button in the upper left template above the map and then clicking
on the site in the map.

This will zoom you in closer to the approximate location of the site. Once you have visual approximated where the collection site is located on the image. Click the XY button on the same templete above the map. You have activated obtain location information function.
Now place cursor
over the approximate location and click your mouse.
The below box will apear. Type the x values in the easting (X) box and the Y value in the Northing (Y) box. Continue enter the rest of the information and then press submit.

If there is additional sample site information to enter press the reset button and follow the above directions. The X and Y data must be entered correctly in order to submit the sample site into the database.
